FAQs: Sony EMCS Scholarship

ASSALAMMUALAIKUM W.B.T. peeps !

Hi there! Pheww! it's been awhile (a really long one, actually) since my last blog post. I'm still alive, thankfully, just that I kinda lost my "interest" in writing blog post. But I know deep down inside I did miss the old good days I spent with Blogger.com... Editing its html, css, & js scripts.. Making it look pretty.. And writing a blog post which some of them makes me cringe when I was trying to read back them these days~ ( ̄y▽, ̄)╭

Oh well, speaking of blog posts, I am very thankful that my two blog posts in 2016 related to Sony EMCS Scholarship; [Aptitude Test] & [Interview] got a lot of hits. And the hits keep on increasing year by year. I am really glad these two posts achieved my objective of sharing in the first place: to help others who're going to sit for the test or/and going to the interview as during my time it was hard to find posts relating to this particular scholarship.

These two posts also got a lot of comments, and some of the readers even contacted my via email, twitter, (some even asked for my IG and personal number ( ̄▽ ̄)"  ). Some reached me out to express their gratitude (you're welcome, dears), and some were asking for additional info, tips, etc. Most of the time I will try to reply and be as helpful as I can be, but sometimes I might missed to reply your inquiry due to other commitments (when reading your messages) and ended up forgetting to reply / replying late. I also just realized yesterday I didn't get any notification from Blogger anymore when there's a new comment (IDK why.. So sorry ya if I didn't reply your comments here!). The only reason I checked the blog again because this week I received 2 new emails related to Sony EMCS Aptitude Test inquiries.. Then I realized.. It is the time of year again..
For. the. aptitude. test.

Sooooooo here we are, I decided to write a blog post to compile Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) that I've received from the readers for the past 3 years.. ☜(゚ヮ゚☜)

Why?

ASSALAMMUALAIKUM W.B.T. peeps !

Sometimes I started to ask myself, why do I took Software Engineering? If before this, I can confidently said because I love programming.... But now, on my 4th semester here.. Ayyy sooo many documentationSSSSS. Software Requirements Specifications(SRS), User Requirement Document(URD), use cases, activity diagrams, swimlane, etc etc... the list continues. JUST GIVE ME WORKS IN DEVELOPMENT == PROGRAMMING AND I'LL BE A HAPPY WOMAN chusseyooooo. T.T

This thingy is currently trending on twitter & I felt the urge to share here. hewhew.

now nowww. i really need to wrap this up and continue with SRS which the due is tomorrow!!!!!!

Guess who just got her very first medal???

ASSALAMMUALAIKUM W.B.T. peeps !

Alhamdulillah, all thanks to Allah, we, Haikyuuu sub-team, (dah macam kPop pulak ada sub-unit bagai lol) won 2nd runner-up award aka bronze award for Best Design award during UTM HCI Day 2016.

ヽ(´∇´)ノ (∇´ノ) ヽ( )ノ (ヽ´∇) ヽ(´∇`)ノ

Which is, quite funny as I am the PIC for prizes preparation (preparing the medals, hampers) & ended up I'm being one of the winner. (☞゚∀゚)☞ well maybe the medals & hampers doesn't want to be separated with me, as we spent days together inside my college room prior to HCI Day. XD

Regardless, frankly, before the day came, I sorta put my hope high, aiming to get the medals. But, on the HCI day, after seeing other participants' idea and their presentation, I felt like, "Alright nevermind. it's ok if we're not winning this. At least we've tried our very best and gain as much experience as we can." (◕ω◕)

Anyway, it's our rezeki. Congrats Yohga & Imani! Our hard work paid off. Next, Haikyuuu for Gold!! Fighting! ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و

Also, shoutout to Dr Azman, our HCI lecturer for guiding us to think outside the box.

A dedication

ASSALAMMUALAIKUM W.B.T. peeps !

Alhamdulillah, mabruk alaik to my one & only sister, Ms. Nurul Aufa Ab Majid for your 5 years long fight (including foundation studies) at UNIMAS! I bet there were times you shed tears and sweats but not even once you showed it to me. You're such an amazing person, remarkably proved that getting a C+ (eh ke B+) for addmath during SPM doesn't mean you can't pursue and hold a degree in engineering. A lovable senpai, and a friendly friend; how we're really different on that aspect 😂

Getting on my 2nd year of study & facing more and more challenging subjects, I hope I won't lose my way. If I ought to fall somehow along my way, I pray I'll stay tough as you did. You're my inspiration.!

Last but not least, all the best for your SL1M training! Mudah2an badan pun bertambah SLIM ler. 😜
Kihkih.

Sony EMCS Scholarship Interview 2016

ASSALAMMUALAIKUM W.B.T. peeps !

[Update October 2019]
Hola amigos! I noticed this post got a lot of hits year by year. And throughout the 3 years, some of the readers reached me out to ask some additional info. So I decided to created a FAQs post for this particular scholarship.
Do check it out after reading this post!!
👇👇👇

---------------

Hi everyone! This one post is looong way overdue as I've attended the interview back in my midsem break - 3rd of November precisely.

So my last midsem break was kinda hectic as even though I went back to Kedah, during the holiday I went to Selangor twice! The first one was to Stadium Shah Alam to watch Piala Malaysia Final, which, alhamdulillah Kedah won! ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و  #PulunKedahPulun.

And the 2nd time, of course, to Bangi for Sony EMCS Scholarship Interview 2016.

Kedah menang woi!!!

For those who read my previous post, Sony EMCS Scholarship Aptitude Test 2016, this is the Part #2 of it. Alhamdulillah, I get called to attend the interview on 24th of October, which, surprisingly quite earlier that promised date (early/mid Nov). Anyway, thank you very very very (read: neomu neomu neomu) much for everyone, who prayed for me. ╰(⸝⸝⸝´꒳`⸝⸝⸝)╯

So to cut the story short, I went to Bangi the day before, by taking ETS to KL Sentral and then from there I took commuter and drop off UKM station. Note for those who's unfamilar with commuter/train: the nearest KTM Station to Sony EMCS is UKM Station, not Bangi Station. At first I also thought like that, luckily my friend whom let me stay 1 night at her shared rent house (special shoutout to Shahirah Zamri & Mariam!!) told me 'bout it.

D-day.
